Log on support

A new verification step has been added to the Volunteer Hub login from 8 April 2026. You’ll see a small check box asking you to confirm you’re a human when you log in.

This change is part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening cybersecurity and aligning with the Australian Government’s Essential Eight security strategies.

Emergency services personnel registered with DFES (staff and volunteers), as well as personnel from local governments, will need to access DFES online information and resources to perform their roles in emergency management.

How are you connected to DFES?

  • Volunteers use the Volunteer Hub to enter the DFES network.
  • Volunteers (who are also DFES Staff) use their staff credentials to access the DFES network.

Follow the directions below for the login process. You can gain support through your DFES Regional Office during business hours.

We thank you for your service to the community and for a safer State.

First-time users

You should have received an email from the DFES Regional Office managing your brigade, group or unit. They will confirm your registration with DFES as an emergency services volunteer. If not, contact your DFES Regional Office during business hours.

Your email address will be registered in the DFES database, and you will be issued a Volunteer ID number to access the Volunteer Hub.

You will receive an automated email from the Volunteer Hub asking you to set up a password to use with your Volunteer ID number to log in. You can change your password anytime on the logon page.
